Winters in Pennsylvania are not that harsh – but harsh enough for me. To help me get through the cold weather and sadly decreased daylight hours, I go on a fabulous movie journey throughout the winter that ends with watching the Oscar Awards in that time period just before Spring hits. You know, the days when you are getting really sick of sweaters and boots and are itching to get back outside in the sunshine without shivering.

This year the Oscars fall on Sunday, March 2nd. Although it is only November, this date has been in my calendar for months already. I add it to my calendar as soon as it is announced in early summer, although the sun is still my friend at that time of the year. However, my journey does not really begin until late September or early October, and then really kicks in around November. This is when the movies that are on my list finally pick up in availability.

November is when the movies that are on my list finally pick up in availability. This is also when I start to become a little movie crazy and begin driving my boyfriend a tiny bit batty. Not that he doesn’t like movies – let’s just say our movie tastes are not exactly the same. He is more of a good-ol’-Western type a guy and my favorite type of movie is when I get to both laugh and cry – sometimes at the same time.
